Stephen has been the proud owner of Armstrong Solicitors for over 15 years and prior to that a partner for an additional 10 years.
Whilst completing his law degree, Steve worked as a registrar in court houses all over NSW, giving him an excellent background working in courts. He continued to expand on this experience by regularly appearing in courts and commissions.
Steve has vast experience in insurance and accident claims, motor vehicle accidents, medical claims, criminal law, civil law, estates and contested estates. Steve can also assist with preparation of wills, powers of attorney and enduring guardians.
Having lived in Lake Macquarie for 22 years he is a passionate member of the community regularly lending his experience to school students via mock debate coaching - a state wide competition aimed at giving youth experience in law as an insight into a potential career.
In addition to his passion for law, Steve enjoys sailing and hockey and has voluntarily served on the board of directors for two respected local sporting institutions.
His experience and outside interests give him a balanced perspective when acting for clients and he will always give relevant and practical advice on solving legal problems.
Steve has been an accredited Personal Injury Law specialist since 1994.
Steffany grew up in Newcastle, studied in Newcastle and has family, friends and a partner that lives and works in Newcastle.
Steffany joined our firm in August 2015 after graduating from the University of Newcastle in 2011 with a Bachelor of Communication (Journalism) and in 2013 with a Bachelor of Laws and Diploma of Legal Practice. Until joining our firm, Steffany had worked in legal offices in the Newcastle area.
Steffany has experience in a range of matters including Wills, appointments of Powers of Attorney and Enduring Guardian documents, Agency Matters, Estates, Criminal Law and Civil Litigation. Her degrees coupled with invaluable “on the job” experience gives her a unique ability to assist clients with legal matters. Steffany also does home and hospital visits to clients in need.
Steffany believes that the best part of her job is the satisfaction of helping someone through what may be a particularly difficult time in their lives and hopes to make a difference.
Steffany is an avid animal lover, has been vegetarian for over 10 years and loves spending time with her dog "Mishy." She is a volunteer at various dog rescue groups in Newcastle and is the president of the 'Newy Dog Group.' She is also a member of the Newcastle Law Society Social Committee.
Being Newcastle born and having lived in the greater area her whole life, Tiahna was excited to continue her career locally and joined Armstrongs in August 2017.
After completing her Bachelor of Communication (Journalism) degree with Distinction in 2012, Tiahna went on to do her Bachelor of Laws/Diploma of Legal Practice degree finishing with Honours in 2014 at the University of Newcastle.
Tiahna was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW in February 2015. Since her admission, Tiahna has gained experience in retail leasing, commercial leasing, conveyancing, wills, estates and litigation.
Tiahna believes in giving back to the community and has enjoyed speaking at local community group meetings about various aspects of the law including wills, enduring power of attorneys, enduring guardianship and family provision claims. She is also more than willing to go the extra mile for her clients, including attending on elderly clients at nursing homes and hospitals.
Outside of work, Tiahna has played netball for over 10 years, enjoys fitness classes and spending time with her toy poodle Oscar.
Tiahna also enjoys experiencing other cultures and has travelled across America and most recently England and Europe.
Drawn to Armstrong Solicitors for its solid heritage and warm and friendly staff, Hannah joined the firm in August 2017.
Whilst completing her Bachelor of Laws at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, Hannah clerked at one of the top tier law firms in the South Island as part of their litigation team. During her clerkship, Hannah obtained a passion for civil and criminal litigation, and tailored her Bachelor of Laws accordingly.
Hannah represented her region in athletics and competed nationally in various other sports throughout her years in New Zealand. Having a passion for helping others, she chose to put her sporting aside and now throws that same drive and dedication into her clients and legal work.
Hannah moved to Newcastle upon completing her Diploma of Professional Legal Practice and worked at a general practice law firm in Port Stephens gaining experience in family law, wills, estates, conveyancing, litigation and commercial law.
